Cell Phone

from Blast Off! EP by Tinnitis

/

about

The third of nine Tinnitis songs recorded on 1/2" analog reel-to-reel tape, "Cell Phone" is a concert favorite. At the time of writing, I, MC Tourettes, have never owned a cell phone, and have only owned one for about six months in my entire life.

This song was written in 2002. It is inspired by Gary Numan and Kraftwerk. Incidentally, Gary Numan says he was inspired by David Bowie and Kraftwerk. And did you know that Kraftwerk mentioned David Bowie in their 1977 song, "Trans-Europe Express"?

Wait a minute. I was supposed to talk about THIS song.

lyrics

I am never alone
When I am with my cell phone
I can call you broadband
From the palm of my hand
When I am with my cell phone
I am never alone
From the palm of my hand
I can call you broadband

With my cell phone
With my cell phone

I am never alone
When I am with my cell phone
Through my digital line
I'll interface any time
When I am with my cell phone
I am never alone
interface anytime
From my digital line

With my cell phone
With my cell phone

Ah ah
ah ah
ah ah
ah ah

Turn on the juice
Watch movie clips
When not in use
Clip to my hip

When I am with my cell phone
i have total access
To arcade games and the bank
News, weather and IRS
When I am with my cell phone
I feel snug and secure
I can reach out and touch
From the 83rd floor

With my cell phone
With my cell phoone

Ah ah, etc.
